Our luxury crossover SUV.
While it’s true that good things come in small packages, sometimes exceptional things come in larger ones. Case in point is the 2010 Hyundai Veracruz, our feature-packed, fuel-efficient crossover SUV. It’s the result of meticulous engineering combined with an unerring eye for what driver and passengers want in a vehicle. All around, the Veracruz is an outstanding crossover SUV. Powered by a 260 horsepower 3.8L 24-valve, DOHC, V6 engine with Continuously Variable Valve Timing (CVVT), it can move seven people down the sweeping country roads as easily as it does around the city. Veracruz is loaded with standard luxury features, such as: AM/FM/XM/CD/MP3 stereo with six speakers, USB port and auxiliary plug; non-CFC Air Conditioning with automatic temperature control and rear controls for second- and third-row ventilation ducts; and tilt-and-telescoping, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio remote controls. To the eye, the new Veracruz is a study in understated design. It’s substantial, but with a sense of human proportion that says “strength” without being intimidating. The exterior is as sophisticated as the interior, lending cohesion to the entire package. Turning heads. Raising eyebrows.
The only bad thing you can say about the 2010 Veracruz’s exterior is that it gives most people only half the Veracruz experience. But what a half it is. From the projector-type headlamps up front to the rear spoiler at back, this crossover SUV is an exercise in engineered elegance. Up top, standard roof-rack side rails bracket the sunroof with power tilt-and-slide and one-touch open. Further back, a roof-mounted micro antenna pulls in signals for the AM/FM/XM/CD/MP3 stereo with six speakers. Veracruz offers a wide variety of exterior colours, all set off by dark grey lower body side mouldings. Not just an attractive accent, they also work to preserve your paintwork by deflecting stones, salt and grit away from the vehicle. At each end, attractive front and rear body colour bumpers blend beautifully, while body colour side mirrors are power-adjustable and heated with timer, fold manually, and feature puddle lights with LED side repeaters. Fog lights at front come standard. Veracruz projects a solid, confident stance. A look that’s echoed in the driving experience. Get to know the 2010 Hyundai Veracruz crossover SUV today.
The Veracruz changes the game in crossover SUVs.
While the Veracruz is stunning to look at, the real joy lies inside. And knowing the interior is where you’ll spend all your time, it’s where we pulled out the stops. From the elegance of the dash and instrument panel to the intelligently designed audio and climate controls, the Veracruz’s quality craftsmanship is undeniable. Superb attention to detail is apparent – from an available cooled centre-console storage box to a trip computer, optional rain-sensing wipers and luxurious leather seating. The Veracruz also features access to the great outdoors at the touch of a button with a fully retractable power sunroof. Then there’s the space. With three rows of plush leather seating (available on GLS and Limited) – and 4,264 litres of passenger and cargo space – the Veracruz premium crossover SUV gives everyone enough room to get comfortable. And for pure travelling pleasure – with noise distractions of your choosing only – the Veracruz offers a whisper-quiet cabin thanks to its advanced acoustic damping design which enhances the sound quality of the Veracruz’s (6-speaker) AM/FM/XM/CD/MP3/USB/Aux. plug audio system. Whether you’re travelling around tight streets in town or along the wide-open country roads, you’ll quickly appreciate the thoughtful engineering and luxurious appointments of Veracruz – Hyundai’s premium crossover SUV.
In the Veracruz, nothing is left to chance.
When you’re travelling in a vehicle built for the comfortable movement of seven people, you want to ensure you arrive safely. Veracruz has been designed with just that goal in mind. Standard on all Veracruz models is Electronic Stability Control with Traction Control System, a cutting-edge driving stability system designed to sense oversteer and understeer conditions. During unexpected and dangerous situations, it adjusts the braking power of each wheel utilizing the Traction Control System to help restore the driver’s intended course. In the event of a collision, Veracruz is equipped with six airbags – front dual advanced, two front seat-mounted side-impact airbags and two roof-mounted side-curtain airbags – to surround its occupants in protection. Front passengers also benefit from active head restraints, while second- and third-row passengers have height-adjustable head restraints. When it comes to performance, Veracruz excels there as well. It comes with the incredibly powerful 3.8L 24-valve DOHC V6 engine with Continuously Variable Valve Timing (CVVT), generating 260 horsepower. Delivering this power to the road is 6-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC™. Veracruz embodies a smart balance of power and safety – recognizing that each has its time and place, and both are irreplaceable.
